How it works
- Choose a level. A new problem appears.
- Work it out on paper, type your answer and press Check.
- Stuck? Each Hint reveals one more step of the method. Show the solution plays every step, animated.
Type just the number; a % sign is fine too. For a decrease, use a minus sign.
Your streak counts the problems you solve in a row without showing the solution. It is saved only in this browser.
The three levels
- Easy: friendly percentages of round numbers, like 25% of 80.
- Medium: any percentage of a number, what percent one number is of another, and increasing or decreasing by a percentage.
- Hard: percentage change, and finding the original number from a part.
Tips
- 10% is a tenth, so find 10% first and build from it: 15% = 10% + 5%.
- Percentage change is always measured from the starting value.
- Increasing by 20% is the same as multiplying by 1.2.
