How to convert a percent to a fraction

    1. Write the percent over 100. Percent means “per hundred”: 45% = 45/100.
    2. Clear any decimal point by multiplying the top and the bottom by 10, 100…: 12.5% = 12.5/100 = 125/1000.
    3. Simplify by dividing by the greatest common divisor: 45/100 = 9/20 (÷ 5), and 125/1000 = 1/8 (÷ 125).

How to convert a percent to a decimal

    Divide by 100, which moves the decimal point two places to the left: 45% = 0.45, 12.5% = 0.125, 150% = 1.5 and 0.5% = 0.005.

    Fractions and decimals to percents

    Go the other way by multiplying by 100. 0.375 × 100 = 37.5%. For a fraction, either turn it into a decimal first or multiply it by 100 directly: 3/8 × 100 = 300/8 = 37.5, so 3/8 = 37.5%, and 1/3 × 100 = 33 1/3, so 1/3 = 33 1/3%.

    33 1/3% and 66 2/3%

33 1/3% is exactly 1/3 and 66 2/3% is exactly 2/3. As decimals they repeat: 33.333…% and 66.666…%. To convert one here, type 33.3 with 3 in the repeating digits box, or 33.(3). A rounded value like 33.33% gives 3333/10000, close to 1/3 but not equal to it.
