How it works
- Choose a level. A new problem appears.
- Work it out on paper, type your answer and press Check.
- Stuck? Each Hint reveals one more step of the method. Show the solution plays every step, animated.
Write the answer as a whole number, or with a remainder like 14 R 2 (you can also type 14 r 2 or 14 remainder 2).
Your streak counts the problems you solve in a row without showing the solution. It is saved only in this browser.
The three levels
- Easy: a 2- or 3-digit number divided by one digit, with no remainder.
- Medium: up to 4 digits divided by one digit, usually with a remainder.
- Hard: up to 5 digits divided by a 2-digit number.
Tips
- Estimate first. 1,001 ÷ 7 is a bit more than 140, because 7 × 140 = 980.
- Check by multiplying: answer × divisor + remainder should give the number you started with.
- If a step leaves a remainder as big as the divisor, the digit you wrote was too small.
