How it works
- Choose a level. A new problem appears.
- Work it out on paper, type your answer and press Check.
- Stuck? Each Hint reveals one more step of the method. Show the solution plays every step, animated.
Give the answer in its simplest form: a fraction like 7/12, a mixed number like 1 7/12, or a whole number. If your value is right but not simplified, you’ll be told.
Your streak counts the problems you solve in a row without showing the solution. It is saved only in this browser.
The three levels
- Easy: adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator.
- Medium: different denominators, and multiplying.
- Hard: mixed numbers, and dividing.
Tips
- To add or subtract, first make the denominators the same.
- To multiply, multiply the tops and the bottoms; to divide, flip the second fraction and multiply.
- Simplify at the end by dividing the top and bottom by their greatest common divisor.
